How can scientists know what's in your genome?
The ability to sequence a person's genome enables scientists to diagnose and treat critical genetic diseases, and to develop new medicines. In this collection of scientific papers published by our Google Research teams, we'll talk about DeepVariant, an AI tool that makes reading a genome more accurate, cheaper, and faster than ever. We'll talk about genetic diagnosis in cases where seconds count, how AI enables new sequencing technologies with breakthrough capabilities, and how a new type of human reference genome, the pangenome, built from individuals from many ancestries can make genomic analysis both more accurate and more equitable for everyone.
